Soul of the Great Migration Culture Festival

February 1 - February 2

Lath Pavilion at historic Heritage Square
Soul of the Great Migration is a day that honors local Black musicians and seminal music from throughout the African Diaspora. For this year’s festivities, we are engaging community members in relevant yet disregarded issues, such as the history, contributions and achievements of people of African descent in Arizona, while kicking off Black History Month activities.

The Soul of the Great Migration Cultural Festival is a facet of The Great Migration- Indiscernibles in Arizona, which is an ongoing project about how Blacks came to Arizona.

We will honor In Memoriam Master Percussionist and Mentor Keith Johnson and Musician/ Visual Artist Jackie Andre Muhammad. We will also host fundraising and accept donations for Raising Britt Nonprofit and the launch of the UBUNTU African American Cultural Center.
